About us and our method

Rovigo Segreta exists to reveal the lesser-known face of Rovigo and the Polesine: churches hidden among the houses, leaning towers, vanished canals and legends handed down from one generation to the next. We write for people visiting the town and for those who have always lived here.

History and legend, always kept apart

Every page separates what is documented from what is told. Legends have a panel of their own, introduced by an honest phrase: legend has it…. When history says something different, we write it alongside.

Verifiable sources

Every page ends with the list of sources used: public bodies, the Diocese of Adria-Rovigo, the Veneto Region, museums, universities, foundations and reputable press. When sources disagree on a date or a measurement, we say so rather than picking one at random.

Corrections and suggestions

A site like this grows with its readers. If you find a mistake, know of a document we have not cited or keep a story that deserves to be told, write to the editors: we reply and, where needed, correct the page and cite the source.

Privacy

The site uses no profiling cookies or tracking systems. Maps are provided by OpenStreetMap: when you open one, your browser downloads the map images from their servers.
